The new sanctuary of Calvary Baptist Church was officially opened and dedicated on 30th June 1974. Present at the ceremony were missionaries, representatives from the Christian council, representatives from other Baptist churches, president of the Ghana Baptist convention, government representatives and members of the congregation. Among them were the following; Rev. Forster, Rev. Dr. James Barron and Mrs. Linda Barron (Missionaries), Rev. Prof. Dickson formerly of the University of Ghana preached the sermon. Calvary Baptist choir ministered with Mrs Linda Barron as pianist. Lt. Col B.T. Okai, then Executive Chairman of the Accra –Tema City Council, cut the tape to formally open the Church.
On its inception and infancy, CBC benefited immensely from the support and contributions of foreign missionaries notable among them were; Mr. Cunningham and his family. they introduced the Bell Choir, Rev John Mills, Executive Secretary of Home and Foreign Mission Boards of the Nigeria Baptist Convention; His wife, Mrs. John Mill, started the CBC Library, Miss Jenny Hargrave, a young Missionary proceeded Mrs. Linda Barron as organist, Maxine Moseley and Danny Stampley, College and Seminary students such as Miss. Wander Carpenter, also came out as a missionary helpers to offer short – term support.
